Load balancing is a function of network management which allows for more efficient use of resources, better performance and redundancy, and affords greater scalability over time.
Shared network load balancing splits network traffic between routers, servers and special load balancing tools to avoid data bottlenecks. For example, if your network, has eight routers, but four of them are processing 80 percent of your traffic, you’ll notice a slowdown in performance.
Likewise, multiple redundant servers may be used to serve application data, with the added benefit of allowing for continued operation. If one network server fails, the others can continue to operate.
Avende uses various approaches to load balancing, depending on your existing environment. As part of our Virtual CTO plan, load balancing is part of our overall network health service.
Your users will have an improved experience with a properly load balanced network. Combined with our other network traffic management capabilities, we are able to provide better performance, better security and higher dependability.
